SONY DSCINGREDIENTS/INGREDIENTI

1L Red Wine – Vino Rosso

200g Sugar – Zucchero

1 lemon peel – scorza di limone

1 orange peel – 1 scorza di arancia

2tsp cinnamon – 2 cucchiaini di cannella

1tsp nutmeg – 1 cucchiaino di noce moscata

8 cloves – 8 chiodi di garofano

1 Anise star – 1 stella di Anice

Place all the ingredients (except the wine) in a big sauce pan. When you peel the lemon and the orange be careful not to peel off the white part as it will result bitter.

Pour the wine and on medium fire bring to the boil, let it boil for a couple of minutes and serve hot! If you want to get rid of the alcohol, simply place a lighted match on the wine when it boils (careful with the flame!!).

For the past 3 years, I have been in Europe just around Christmas and have always enjoyed Mulled Wine. This year I am at home in India and missing the Christmas fun. 🙂

Thank you for you comment dear Aruna! You should try and make it back home to re-live a little bit of Europe there! 😉
