Christmas biscuits – Biscotti di Natale

Good evening everybody,

We are less than a week away from Christmas and what else to bake if not Christmas gingerbread biscuits? This year the company I work for, on our Christmas cards gave us a recipe for them and so I could not but try them! Here we go…

manca meno di una settimana a Natale e non potevo non preparare dei biscotti natalizi allo zenzero! Quest’anno l’azienda per la quale lavoro ci ha consegnato i biglietti di auguri proprio con questa ricetta, ovviamente non potevo non provarla! Quindi, ecco qui…

INGREDIENTS:

150g Brown sugar – zucchero di canna

150g Honey – Miele

400g Flour – Farina

100g Butter – burro

1 egg – uovo

Baking soda – bicarbonato di sodio

2 tsp Ginger –  2 cucchiaini di zenzero

1tsp Cinnamon – 1 cuc. cannella

1/2 Cloves – 1/2 chiodi di garofano

Mix the sugar with the spices, then add the flour and the baking soda. Add the softened butter, the honey and the egg and mix well with your hands.

Mescolate lo zucchero con le spezie, aggiungete la farina ed il bicarbonato. Poi aggiungete il burro ammorbidito, il miele e l’uovo. Mescolate bene con le mani.

Once you have a nice homogenous dough, place it in the fridge and it rest for two hours.

Una volta che l’impasto e omogeneo e morbido, mettete in frigo a riposare per due ore.

When the two hours have passed, take the dough out and create the shapes you prefer. Bake in the oven at 170° for about 15mins. Decorate if you wish and then enjoy!

Passate le due ore, tirate fuori l’impasto, stendetelo e create le forme che preferite. Cucinare in forno a 170° per un 15 minuti. Lasciate raffreddare e decorate a piacimento!
