As you can see I made A LOT of caramel/dulce de leche sauce, so I decided to make a big cake with it and use it all! It was a success, the cake turned out very soft and yummy, perfect in the morning with some tea!

290g of flour + 90g of wheat starch – 290g di farina + 90g di frumina – 290g de harina + 90g almidón de trigo

150g sugar – 150g di zucchero – 150g de azúcar

150g butter – 150g burro – 150g mantequilla

3 eggs – 3 uova – 3 huevos

16g of baking powder – 16g di lievito – 16g levadura en polvo

180ml of milk – 180ml di latte – 180ml de leche

Lemon peel – buccia di limone – cáscara de limón

Mix all the ingredients in this order: sugar + eggs, then add the butter (melted), the lemon peel, the flour and baking powder alternating with the milk.

Pour the mixture in a baking pan and add the caramel by mixing it in gently just enough not to incorporate it to the baking mixture. Put in the oven at 180°C for about 40-45 mins. Once ready sprinkle with some icing sugar and serve!

This does look like one delicious and caramelly comfort-style cake – what a nice way to use some of your caramel sauce (dulce de leche) for baking, I certainly would not mind a slice with my tall glass of café latte right now.
